I’m sure it’s going to snow soon so I’ve been enjoying the sporadic rainy days that we have had. As it has been getting colder, my outfit seems to fit more of a winter outfit than fall! I kept warm in a wool coat, a heavy knit sweater, and a cashmere scarf.
The coat and scarf are from Burberry. The scarf goes with many different outfits. I wear it a lot every winter whether I was walking to class or just running errands and I need that extra protection from the harsh winds and snow! There are also many replicas of the scarf so here’s one for under $20!
And what is a rainy day without some rain boots? Hunter has my favorite rain boots. They have many different styles including a travel pair that are very compact! My sister owns the travel pair and she prefers them from the original since they aren’t as stiff.
I hope you are all having a great week
I’m really excited to be sharing this post with everyone today. I’ve partnered with ShopStyle to share Fashion Targets Breast Cancer charity by CFDA (Counsil of Fashion Designers of America). For the next week (10/17-10/23), I’ve agreed to donate 10% of my gross revenue to FTBC.
Cancer is unavoidable in life. Everyone has some sort of connection to someone who has or had cancer. Whether it’s been a neighbor, a family member, or a friend, cancer is inevitable in life. October is all about spreading awareness for breast cancer. 1 in 8 (or 12%) of women in America will develop breast cancer at some point in their life.
Take a couple moments out of your day to look over the signs of breast cancer from the National Breast Cancer Foundation:
Please spread awareness this month, donate, and share information about how to spot the signs of breast cancer.

I’ve visited three different apple orchards this year but this one was my absolute favorite. I also now have a ton of apples that I’m not sure what to do with!
I was originally going to the lakes just for the weekend but things happened and I ended up not coming back to town until Wednesday. I didn’t have enough clothes to last me that long so I did a little bit of shopping at J. Crew and L.L. Bean while I went to the cities. 🙂
Luckily for me, J. Crew was having this top and vest at 30% off! This flannel vest is no longer on sale, but the normal excursion vests that I wear all the time are still 30% off! Here’s another vest from J. Crew vest that I’ve had my eye on that is 30% off too. Buy them now while the price is still low 🙂
The top is still on sale though and matches the vest perfectly.
I wore my typical dark skinny jeans from J. Brand. I own four of these in the exact same style. 😳 I’m starting to gravitate towards 7 for all mankind jeans, but for now, all of my dark skinny jeans are J. Brand!
For shoes, I wore my bean boots. These are versatile for so many events whether it’s taking a small hike, visiting friends, or picking apples 😉 I actually just bought a new pair yesterday that are lined! When I was walking to class last year in below zero temperatures, my feet were getting cold but these lined ones should hold up during the North Dakota weather.
I hope you all have a great weekend! I’ll be watching the NDSU game this weekend and hopefully get some work done. What are your plans for the weekend?
Last week I stopped into one of the many state parks in Minnesota to see the foliage before it was gone. There were many different progressions, areas that were still very green and then others where you could only see orange and yellow.
This outfit was perfect for a day like this. It was comfy but kept me warm on these chillier fall days.
This is my last outfit from Chicago that will be posted on my blog!
The dress was lightweight and comfy which was perfect for the warm and humid days in Chicago. I also wore my old Prada flats. I’ve had these for almost 8 years and they’ve held up so well! They don’t sell the exact same style anymore but I’ve linked similar ones here from Prada and here from Sam Edelman.
Maybe I’ll need to plan another warm trip soon so I can wear this outfit again. 🙂
